All is Right in the World

Because the Wings won on the road after the worst first period in like forever. I seriously almost shut my TV off 30 seconds in to the game. But I can't do that because I feel like they need me to stare at them in order to win. Which clearly is not true because when Deacon woke up, the score was 2-1 Canucks and when I came back out 15 minutes later it was tied 3-3. But whatever, I choose to believe that. The Hockey Gods need me to watch them. And drink Labatt Blue Light. Maybe that's just during the playoffs, I don't know, I haven't tested that theory this year, could be why they're losing. Nonetheless, I will be wearing Yzerman to preschool tomorrow. I wore Zetterberg last week. I started off the year purely by coincidence two weeks in a row in RW tees so now I feel like for the entire school year I have to wear the winged wheel. A victory calls for number 19.

Care to comment, fellow weirdo superstitious sports fans? <-- and by that statement I mean "The Leafs are cursed by members of my family watching them." It's not true dude. But you believe it, right? Hockey fans are NOT like other fans, just like the commercials say.

  1. I tested my curse last night by watching the phillies game wearing my darren daulton t-shirt from the early 90s. they won. i am now stuck in this shirt for the next several games. even if it gets covered in baby barf.

  2. Yeah you do.

Who knows what weird superstitions I come up with this year. It's always something new and fucked up. I always order new shit right before the playoffs too under the guise of "it's my birthday." Well first we have to get there.

You know you can't wash that shirt either. It must get as skank ass as possible.

  3. As long as it keeps Satan's team from victory it's all good.

  4. The leafs have not made the playoffs since my dad died.

I had him buried in Toronto Maple Leafs boxers.

    Coincidence?

He also believed he was cursed. So for the last 10 years of his life he was denied something he loved...watching a good hockey team. LOL.

Up yours the Leafs. I hope I am a curse now, how many can you actually lose? I wanna see. :D

  5. You are not a curse. For real. And watch it turn around in November. I still maintain that I am right. Kessel is cleared for contact - will probably play as early as Tuesday. Not saying he will be magic, he could be a bust. But he won't be. He is too much of a douche for that. He wants to be a superstar. It may take awhile for him to gel with his linemates. But they will shock and surprise the entire NHL fanbase. Watch. It is fucking opposite year in the NHL.
